"before riding into the arena I like to play a computer game, which I must win twice before I ride - and I always do!"

The Mission Ready Module is the business end of the CF2 Project in that it brings together and enhances the strategies, drills and practice routines of the other 3 Modules. Mission Ready helps individuals create the environment that they need to optimise their chance of performing well by enabling them to create their own set of pre-deployment plans, strategies and routines. By “environment” we mean what is going on in their head and how their body is reacting to the event’s challenges.

We all do our fundamental skill repetitions, train for all kinds of eventualities, prepare our responses for specific scenarios, consider all kinds of “what if? situations, but when it comes time to go, we need skills that allow us to transition effectively from training or practice mode to performer mode. Performers remain in control of their thoughts, their psycho-physiology, their skills, and their emotions in mission critical situations.

CF2 aims to develop individuals who are “ready to perform on demand”. People who are prepared to deal with all the contingencies that can occur around challenging events. Mission Ready training adds scenario based decision making and problem solving skills that enhance an individual’s ability to deal with predictable issues like anxiety, tolerance for pain and sleep loss. It also allows individuals to build strategies that deal with frustration, stress, unexpected tactical surprises, and periods of uncertainty and monotony. Mission Ready training improves how to react when mistakes are made, and when attempts to manipulate, distract or deceive are thrown at you.

The Mission Ready module adds to the skills developed in the other modules - patience, resilience, maintaining task-focus, composure and implementing effective recovery strategies. It aims to enhance each individual’s adaptability and tactical resilience.
