Current state of the art would appear to still be multiple layering of techniques as opposed some more prescriptive individual programming. It might be worth chasing what has happened at the AIS Recovery Centre to see whether it is still operating, what kind of programming runs there, what kind of equipment / capabilities it has, publications, etc.
